About the traveler personalities

There are five possible traveler personalities. They are listed below in order from ‘least adventurous’ to ‘most adventurous’

The Relaxer

You like to have everything taken care of for you. Being comfortable is key in your travels. If you find a travel destination that you like, you are likely to come back – why mess with a good thing? You enjoy traveling without too much risk, and activities like visiting a theme park, taking a cruise, or sitting by the pool with a cold drink are likely appealing to you.

You seek out tried and true experiences, but like to have some freedom with your itinerary. Familiar destinations are appealing, but you like to get out and see the surrounding area and you don’t mind just a little bit of adventure. You like to have some things taken care of for you but seek the flexibility of things like day trips in and around your travel destinations.

The Adapter

You are comfortable on a great many types of trips. Sometimes you you feel like an adventure, sometimes you don’t. Your travel destinations and activities vary a great deal by who you’re with and the purpose of your trip. You’re just as likely to be found sipping a drink by the pool as you are attending a cultural festival or zip-lining through the jungle. Flexibility is the name of your game.

The Explorer

You enjoy traveling to up and coming destinations, and are ok with sacrificing a little bit of comfort to do so. Visiting distant and adventurous destinations is appealing to you, but you wouldn’t mind reading a review from someone who’s been there first. You’re usually comfortable learning key phrases of another language to help you get by on your travels, as the places you’ll go don’t necessarily speak your language. Thats ok with you – its all part of the adventure.

The Trendsetter

You like to be one of the first people to visit a destination, especially among your peers. You love to be able to come home from your travels and describe your adventures to friends and family. Once other travelers start to show up in greater numbers to a destination, you seek other places to visit. You are also comfortable being uncomfortable. Traveling to a destination that doesn’t have many formal accommodations and nobody speaks your language? No problem. You are always looking for a new hidden gem, and get excited for the adventures that await you.
